I'd like to get a universal remote and i'm kind of wondering wich one should I get from those 2?
Harman Kardon TC-30 (190$)
or
Logitech Harmony 520 (70$)
I have an H/K AVR-340 and will be getting soon a H/K DVD-27.
Projector is an Infocus IN72, and I will have a HTPC with a MCE rf receiver.
For that setup, would the 520 be enough?
Or its worth investing more into the TC-30 to keep everything in the H/K line, and have a color screen and charging cradle.
Any oppinions?

Sorry Wojtek, but I'm not an expert in the field of universal remotes.

I'd say it's worth it to spend the extra few. You'll thank yourself later.

I'd say Logitech, my HK speakers buzzed a lot, so I'm anti HK.

Im a fan of HK, so I am going to go against the grain here and spend the extra cash. Specially if the add'l features are worth it.
Personally, [as I type this on a logitech keyboard], when in the field of accessories for electronics, Logitech can be great, but I find their products to be put together fairly cheaply. I dont know if its just me, but they always feel so, I dont know, like they were molded together with cheap plastic in a 3rd world country
Oh wait...[disclaimer: im sure HK is too, but they are considered a more "quality" brand to me]

I think you may ahve a point matt, my point about HK was invalid as I do now remember it was my sound card that was the issue, it was about 2 years ago so, bah. The speakers, while I can't say anything about their remotes, were put together very well indeed. So make your decision, never experienced logitech or HK in the home theatre.

Comparision:

Basically it's the same remote, but the HK is a rebranded 520, with a color screen and charging cradle. Same programming software.
I think I'll go the HK way. Mainly because of the little logo on the bottom. Logitech rings computers, not home theater :)
Aww... brand power.

Yeah, the HK looks like a cheaper version of the Logitech, even though it is much more expensive.

A cheaper version with a much bigger and better screen.

How Lame!
So I purchased the harman one.
I happily unpack the box and bam! Unpleasant surprise.
Harman sticked a ----ing sticker on the screen.
No, not one of those transparent protect-screen ones.
A full color sticker using real glue.
How the hell is someone supposed to take this off?
I tried gently from every side and it was ripping off leaving sticker pieces on the screen.
Took it all off and now it has this ugly glue residue all over the screen!
Hot water, windex, dish soap, nothing helps, theres still glue reside! ARGH!
I'm about to try paint solvant, but am afraid it might remove more then the glue.
Any smart ways to remove stuborn glue residue?

We have this stuff at work called Label Off, it works like a champ. Outside of that, this sounds weird but works; salad grease. I would NOT reccomend using paint solvant...that could be bad news.

Lighter fluid works wonders on stickers.
