Here is a thought ....

Why not try actually contacting Tech Support instead of posting
questions on here that we may or may not see?

Anyway, we took down the servers yesterday around the time of your
first post in this thread and were down for roughly about 35 minutes give
or take to make some updates and changes to the PHP language which
required re-compiling of both PHP and Apache on all server machines.

Effective immediately, all PHP scripts at Cybertoad Networks (http://www.cybertoad.net) now run
as the username of the account holder instead of the generic "nobody"
username normally found with most web servers.

This means that scripts that normally require your folder or file permssions
to be 777 and 666 respectively can now use 755 and 640 respectively
which adds a massive amount of additional security for our members.

Even better news is that members no longer have to worry about file
ownership being mismatched (owned nobody) when files are uploaded
via any web based upload script out there which was always a pain
and usually required tech support help.

Normally this type of change would be done via phpSuExec but the primary
reason for not changing to anything like that previously is because using
phpSuExec brings more new security problems than benefits. Fortunately,
that is no longer the only option out there and we are not using phpSuExec
but another similiar but far more secure method of implementing this!

Meanwhile, we also made a number of changes to the PHP system and
upgraded and added a lot of support for a lot of new features and modules
which should greatly enhance the PHP experience for our members.

In addition to updates and changes to PHP, we also compiled in a number
of updates to Apache and added support for new features which will be
announced shortly and adding those now will save us from having to take
the servers down again later for a different upgrade project.

Cybertoad Networks (http://www.cybertoad.net) hosting members can contact support for questions
or for more information on the current updates and enhancements.
