I have a special on a 'gameserver' machine right now actually. here are the specs below. IF you are looking for management and game installation/configuration and support please add $49/mo otherwise the server will be 100% UNmanaged. This is an ideal machine for anyone wishing to host several games. Here is the contents of the advertisement below

--------------------------------------------------

This is a machine that layeredtech got to us by giving us the wrong server and then making up for it very nicely with this one. I am currently not in need of it any longer but am willing to resell it to anyone interested. This is currently located in savvis although awhile back they stated I could move it to databank for no cost if required, I assume this is still the case but don't quote me on it. Here are the specs below

Dual Opteron 242
1.5GB DDR Ram
80Gb Drive
13 Usable IPs
1000GB Transfer
100mbit port
Tcadmin License (if not needed subtract 15.95/mo)
windows 2003 web
$50 setup $199/mo

All support (UNmanaged) will be through our ticket system since you are buying the server through us.

This is a one time deal so first come first serve. System should be ready in about 48 hours after payment is received (rough os reload time)

yeah that should be no problem at all. I am not too familiar with ROSE specifically but most mmorpg games do not take up any real bandwidth to speak of, they are mostly cpu and ram hogs. Fear does consume a fair amount of cpu resources as well.

1000gb is more than enough to handle a full gameserver machine.

Let me give you a real world example of our game servers we sell to people.

Dual processor (opteron 242 or xeon 2.8 and above)
1.5-2gb ram
80gb drive
10-12 Game Servers (varying size)
Gametypes: FEAR, CS, UT2004, CSS, DOD, etc
Average bandwidth usage ~300gb/mo

and those are production machines with real users from a varying range of clans and backgrounds, all servers are public

With FEAR in the mix and any mmorpg you definatly do NOT want a single cpu machine, you will came up far short of a good gaming experience
