View Full Version : Forget CASTcontrol PRO

Please read this if you're thinking about purshasing CASTcontrol PRO (www.cast-control.net)!
They're still selling an unstable, buggy software piece. Site has been down for two days and I can't even use my Control Panel because it can't access the licence system. There was no advice for this. Support is also down as emails are bouncing back and the tickets page is unavailable, just as the rest of the site. MSN support hasn't been online for weeks, so there's no way to contact them.
I already filled a PayPal claim to get my moneyback. I advice you not to come near CASTcontrol, as they made an opensource script for everyone to test and then sold it, so they took advantage of all the bug reporting and help given by old free users pirate2
If anyone knows an alternative to CASTcontrol, please let me know

Site's up now - and the support center seems to be working if not responding.
They also have a registration as a business - Cast-control is a licensed business located in Australia. Our Australian Business Number is 90371404955 and you can find more information at www.abr.gov.au
Maybe go that route first before 'having a go as yours didn't work' - some counrties can have you sued for this type of statement.
And if it was paid for then be sure before paying. You most likely agreed to whatever when paying.

EDIT: One of the brackets is in the link, so it is up :P

It's up know, but still no response from them. And it's not a matter of not working for me, if the site was down then no clients had access to their control panels

Thats what you get with free software, get scpanel, costs $14.95/mo last time I checked, we have been using it on 6 servers for around 8 months without any problems.

Scpanel isn't very good software really, but as far as filing a paypal compalint, the goods are intangiable, and are not covered under a paypal dispute.
Thanks

CASTcontrol is no longer free. We paid for it, same price as SCPanel, has more features, but seems to be very unstable still

Then I hope those guys have a little ethic and give me a solution

Still looking for a good SC 'manager' script. Not much around for it so I tend to stick to the manual method (pain but hey).
One point though - all the replies from various 'SHOUTcasti' supporters/staff/whatever and your complaining about what you use but advertise it for others to buy from you. I'm seeing an image of a gun pointed at a foot - as in shooting yourself in the foot!
Again when you bought it you must have read the site, I assume, they state they're working on bug fixes, etc. Have you tried the live support on MSN?
PS the lite version is still free.

I have never had any problems with it, from what I know & from talking to a SCP rep who I know well the CastCP is a rip of SCPanel.

Everyone knows it's cast-control, there is nothing to hide there so we aren't giving anything away. Even on the bottom of the cpanel page it shows the copyrights for cast-control.
