I want to create a new online radio station for my free community. But I don't know any. Any one recommend any? It will be good if it is free as I am going to give it to my free stuff.

A script for a radio station? You would need to purchase a shoutcast server from a company (like ours :) )...and you won't find it free

raatbaki 4u if you have ssh access you can install a shoutcast server on your own server. It's not true brotherhewd you wouldn't find it free,

www.shoutcast.com offers it for free if you have your own server access. raatbaki 4u if you do have this, I can install it for you for free because it's so simple :)

stuffradio, stop pretending to be a moderator, you aren't one ;)

If you have a good internet uplink you can host it right off your home with the software shoutcast.com offers. If your hosting has SSH access I would suggest to ask your host if they allow you to use SHOUTcast, as the bandwidth is masiv and not metered by most control panels

from shoutcast.com:

SHOUTcast is Nullsoft's Free Winamp-based distributed streaming audio system. Thousands of broadcasters around the world are waiting for you to tune in and listen. Take a peek through the SHOUTcast directory (immediately listed below) to start browsing the most popular stations. Be sure to select your connection speed and then what kind of music you're looking for over on the right hand side for optimal listening pleasure. All you need is a player (we recommend Winamp) and you're set to go!

Wanna be a broadcaster? It's Free! Check the online docs to get started!

In other words, you need to find a server, and btw, your listeners will download free winamp to listen.

FREE SHOUTCAST SERVERS:
http://freecast.co.uk/ -offers couple hours per day you need to reserve. so for example, you say: listen to our special radio show on at 12:00-3:00! taking requests. type of thing

here's a quote i find

I will off FREE SHOUTCAST to you if you advertise my site on your radio and on your website.

i have msn cobra@sotahosting.co.uk

and my site is http://www.sota-gaming.com if you want to contact me on there

if any one else would like the ame please contact me

Thanks
Chris
In other words you probably need a short ad in your radio and a link on your siter like on the radio listen page. (i guess)

a quote from freewebspace.net

hmmm, contact me at contact@F4u.us and im sure we can come to some agreement (Like putting ad's on the shows)

How many clients were you looking for and how long / day were you hoping to broadcast?

thanks
mikee

oh i was jk about that done for now

if you're going to host it yourself don't forget you can use a computer (if connection is really fast) or a server (if you got one) with many free softwares.
