My partner is thinking of buying a dedicated server.

Just want to ask this question, when you are on a dedicated server, is there a cpanel limit on the amount of sites that you can host?

For cPanel no.
For Plesk it matters how much domains you buy. (I'm pretty sure that's how it works.)
And H-Sphere is the same thing as Plesk too.

Plesk has a 30 domain and unlimited domain option
H-Sphere is per license, 25 pack minimum from a reseller, 100pk minimum through psoft direct. Licenses are generally $3.50-$4.50/user
