I tried to install the vbulletin software for a domain I purchased. It was going fine, but then it told me that it couldnt connect to the database. So I worked with it, and not I cant get it period. I was wondering if someone had a few moments of their time to spare, and could do it for me then I appreciate it.
All I need is for someone to install it to where it asks for my license number, and then I can take it over from there. I will give you the files for the bulletin, and my ftp and msql information. Let me know if you can do it, and who I pick, I will give you my yahoo screen name, and we can talk on Yahoo.

the very first step IS asking for your license number...

I mean, the problem I have is configuring the config.php file. I got it to the point to where it asked me for my license number, and then when I clicked next, it told me it couldnt access the database.
I am to the point now, where it doesnt matter. As long as I can get it installed.

Did you actually try to connect to that database using something else?
I use EMS MySQL Manager, try that and check. Perhaps if its a DB issue.
Is the database on the same server?
If not, perhaps the hostname of your vbul install is not in mysql's allowed hosts list.
If the above steps are okay. Post on the official vBul forum or contact their support.

I have vbulletin installed on another domain and it works just fine their. I just never have done it before period.
The first time, my web host guy did it, but he doesn't come online anymore hardly, so I have to resort to something else now.
I dont mind giving the person any info they need to do it. I just want to get it done.
Then my next problem will be to upload a skin for the forum, but that I will worry with later.

you still did not say if the mysql database is on the same server as the vBul install.
I guess I could take a look later on today. But I'll charge a 5$ fee if i make it work :)
pm me with contact info if interested
