Majority of us (if not all) are not big time hosts. Based on a thread (http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2174674) i just saw, its just probaly to make a bit of cash on the side or as a hobby.

So anyway, how frequent would you guys get a new customer signing up to your services? Also, would this be through your website, or any other...?

Well. No reply as of yet to this thread, so I thought I would start off.

At Galaxy-Solutions, we get about 2 or 3 new orders per day, but sometimes get as many as 5 or 6 per day. Mostly this is via our website, but 6 - 8 orders per week are from our resellers, so orders are made over the phone, ect.

Very slack right now.
DanEthical Services was starting to pick up nicely until I decided to sell it and then something happened and it got screwed up.
Now I recently opened Deise-Host. Not many clients yet because, well it's new and not many people know about it except for people on FWS and a few other hosting forums.
So, I will reply to this again in 6 months time. :D

That very impressive actually, Im working on getting my site up, I hope maybe a few months after that I would expect such amount of customers.

Well, when I was running Delerox, we had around 2 new sign ups a day, keep in mind it was just dedicated servers, so it was a lot more money than most people, and also, it wasn't very popular.

This is also a very funny thread.

I think the sign ups per day for the shared hosting is going to be lower than the dedicated ones. Afterall, theres probaly twice as much shared providers than there are dedicated ones, don't you agree?

It really varies greatly depending on the host and the target market but
one thing that I've noticed about all hosts no matter the niche is that
August tends to be the hottest month of the year for new hosting signups
and January is generally the worst month of the year.

I suspect August is probably attributed to everyone returning to school,
buying new computers, getting assignments, trying to come up with new
ways to make more money, etc.

The slow down time in January is probably attributed to everyone wiping out
all their money for Christmas and other nearby holidays.

Its always seems to be slow starting off, counting both hosts i work with, we total about 52 hosted accounts, but we only started about a month back, and sadly we have had server problems.

Since KwiX started we were getting 3-6 a day, now we slowed down to about 2. Still we're hosting about 170 members and going smooth. We haven't got financial problems...:)

No big surprise as we are presently moving into host dead season ...

(See previous post regarding 'January' coming up in just a few weeks)

No mostly resellers. People use them mainly for personal purpose they don't offer them to offer people. We've just introduced a new rule which stops that.
