i purchased the similar system but with AMD x64 for $650.00 at Best Buy(purchased about a month ago). I thought this was a great deal and still think so - since I can't find it for the same or cheaper price.

Before I bought this laptop - I said I would always buy a dell.. But this gateway isn't that bad either.

I currently run on it Vista, Dreamweaver, MS Studio 2005 and MS SQL2005 to name a frew programs and it seems to fun very nice for me.

Those are my thoughts!

Thanks,
Adam

I wouldn't get a Gateway. They've got major financial problems, and I don't see them being around more than a couple more years.

I'd get a Dell.

OMG I can hardly stop laughing. Dell? reliable? same sentence?

Dell has been nothing but a Hell on earth ever since the first Dimension 4500 I got from them 5 years back. NOTHING I've bought from Dell has lasted. My Gateway from 1998 is still sitting here running as a server. My Dell MP3 is dead, my Dell CRT died in 4 months, the Samsung CD-RW they put in my Dimension 4500 died in a horrible squealing racket after only 2 months, the amp went out on the DELL speaker system I got on the last system FOR A CLIENT, Dell won't run long enough for me to use the crap.

Build your own or get a better company. I don't know about Gateway, I plan to buy one here at XMAS so my mom has an easier time searching the web. The Dell she can hardly use, even after a WinXP reinstall. :tired2:

good god, you must have terrible luck or I must have great luck. My dell has been running since I bout it. Just recently it cracked on the right side where the screen and the rest of the lappy meet up at and I'm sure it's because someone dropped it. I've been using Dell at high school that's why I got a Dell lappy in the first place. I think they are very reliable IMO. Now Compaq? That's another story I can write a book on!

I recommend Gateways. They are solid machines.

I do not recommend Dells...at all. In fact, at work we have a acronym we gave for what DELL stands for.

Doesn't Ever Last Long.

Lol. That was nice but I still LOVE DELL and I'd recommend them to anyone because I have a great experience with mine.
:topic: but FORD stands for Fix Or Repair Daily, or Found On side of Road Dead.

LOL. And here my 1995 Ford Bronco has one visited a repair shop once in its 11 years of life. :p

And no I'm no car repairman, and neither is my dad. We don't do self repairs lol.

Dell desktops are horrible. I have never heard good things about Dell desktops. But Dell laptops are amazing.
