Just going on record here that my Samsung SpinPoint 120GB HD this morning failed to start up. Last seen working last night 11pm. It just won't spin up now.
Manufacturing date 2006.4, first installed 2006.9
I'm $*%&ed for warranty as it was purchased b4 my move overseas. Their warranty states replacement is for refurbished drive anyway, who wants a refurbished drive after a NEW drive died after 2mths!?
Well, I only paid $20 for it, it was a 'farewell gift' from my old work, but damn! What's with SMART anyway? I got no warning from WinXP about imminent death, do we need 3rd party for SMART monitoring?
