Why is it video cards never list 1680x1050 on websites for supported resolutions?
I've been looking around the budget 6200TC or X300/550 or 7300GS series, and this res is never there.

I guess it's not a common screen resolution.

If running Windows at 1680x1050 is your goal, nearly any card will work. Even my old Radeon 8500 can do that. Widescreen still isn't quite as common, so widescreen resolutions often aren't listed as being supported.

The only reason you'd need a more powerful card would be ford 3D applications such as gaming.

ic. Looking at 128MB 6200TC $40ish or 256MB 7300GS $80ish
Goal is for DVI out on my LCD, and some old games - I'm happy to keep 2-3yrs behind in games.
Mostly used for work.
