i had to change the region of my windows media player once because it wouldnt play a cd. so before i changed it, it told me that i only get five oppertunities to change it to different regions. i changed it and i was able to watch that movie on the cd. now, the problem is that when i had already downloded a song from limewire a few weeks ago, i couldnt play the song as it keeps on saying acuiring license when it never use to say it before i even changed my region. can anybody tell me what region it was on before i changed mine and how i change it. thanks!!! :confused4 :confused4

you'r trying to play a protected file.
And it will not play without the license. Nothing to do with regions.

Something broke.
Go to the store and buy the disk with the song you want to listen to.

dont know but you could always try to reinstall it. that way you are sure everything is default.

Uninstall WMP and install the latest version. Or just use Winamp, Foobar, or any of the other media players.

Media player deaults to your regional settings default (which country you select as your default one - see control panel - regional settings), not the same as DVD region which will allow only playback of disks with that or 'region free' code. They are totally different.
Have you tried anything already suggested?
