To start...
I like how the company is very in turned with their free host members, they talk in proffesional and personal touch so you know there not just robots. I think its worth it, I really like how they dont show their clients sites to people and what not.
What about everyone else?

1. Server stability.
2. Features in the package.
3. The price I'll have to pay.
4. Support quality.

I know you demanded an explanation, however i feel that this point requires none. Reliability.

Well as for free hosting--I tried that for a while, it caused more problems then help for people. I had maybe two legit offers, then somehow or another my offer made it into the asian market from here and I was flooded with requests. Unfortunatly alot of the websites I was hosting were people trying to offer there own free hosting off a shared account or spamming.
And I did get a letter from the People's Republic Of China informing me that I was participating in anti-government activities. So I think I'm on a target list in Beijing now.
As for paid hosting. Support. That really is it. I mean hardware is hardware, downtime will happen everywhere. The biggest difference is the kind of support you give. I have seen hosts crash and burn because they lack good support.
