somehow the vmdk file got deleted *cursing me for not taking proper care*
now i did loose all my work *crying*
ok any program is there which can recover that massive file
ok i would even may more than 1000$ - 2000$ for such a kind of software
its all my 3 years work

can someone help me
i am looking for reliable software and will try only if it works
as else i can utilize that time for coding it again

The only data recovery programs I used were back in the win2000 days.
It recovered about 50% of the stuff I lost.

Did you look at google?
Diskeeper's company is making an undelete program, take a look at it.
They advise to stop using the computer that suffered the data loss so the data is not overwriten by other programs, rendering the recovery impossible.

There a lot of options from here...I know if you have a Best Buy close [if you are US/Canada based], they have a partnership with OnTrack and have dustless rooms for a $1500 data recovery. Not a bad deal considering its usually a lot more. Outside of that, you can try to obtain a copy of OnTrack's software, it works pretty good for a lot of recoveries.

Not enough info, and as Wojtek says -stop using it for now.

OS, VMWare host system (your comp not the image OS)?
File system on which the image was contained?

Disk type? This part especially important as it can save overwrites by the OS. Can you remove it and put it into a caddy instead of it being the main disk (ie take it physically out of the machine and put it in a removable disk caddy, USB type for example)?

OnTrak is one of the best for future ref - and is used world wide. (personal) 3 hours is not bad at all, glad you got it all back. :D

3 hour isnt bad at all. We had one of the copies of the professional suite of OnTrack tools once [a LEGAL copy and it was more than a few grands if I remember right] at work, and I remember drives taking longer than days to recover everything, but the software works damn good.

If it has to go to them then they actually open the drive and take the disks out to recover - so $700 if it works is good if it's $7000 worth of work :)

I don't know if this will work in your case since the file is too big.... But you can try using data recovery softwares such as Drive Rescue....

There is a bootable CD floating around on the web called Hiren's BootCD. It has lots of file recovery tools on it and is very useful if you can find a copy. :)

Ahhh the importance of regular data backups illustrated once again... :)
