I have a feeling the mobo/cpu is screwed and have already spoke about a return but, my computer needed new ram, went out and got some, worked fine booted up into windows, turned it off to connect usb etc. Wont even start now, fan spins once then nothing, unplugged everything even new memory and hds.
I'm using k8v-vm and a 64 bit sempron 3000+
All jumpers are fine as is bios battery already tried to reset it.
Thanks.

Okay well heres the chances your ram is either no good (try taking it out), or your usb fried something (try not using it), also make sure all the ps plugs are connected to the board, and confirm the jumbers for starting the machine are set correctly not loose.
Try testing by taking one thing off per time to all you have left is an mobo and cpu, then start adding things again to find the problem peice.

Cheers, i really have tried all that, its just really pissing me off because it was all fine one second. The problem is, it wont start with just the cpu and nothing else.

Perhaps you fried the mobo.

if you take out all the ram and there are no beeps then the problem is within the cpu/mainboard. Chances are it is the mainboard since cpu's rarely go bad

So if I understand correctly, when you hit on now nothing happens, no fan spin or anything? Do you get a power light on the mobo? If thats the case, did you have your board on stand offs? If not, you may have fried the board.

this happened to me once trying to remember what I did. You can try and re-seating everything to make sure everything is in firmly. That may be your problem :)
Otherwise it's probably what everyone else said.

Just how new is your new computer?
My comp does the samething, but it can be fixed with a flick of a switch!
I just set the PSU switch to OFF then wait 5 seconds flip it on and press the power button and it works!
