The Venice Project / Joost - Anybody using it?

Hello,

I'm just wondering if anybody has "The Venice Project" beta test account. I have one myself but can't seem to get the program to open.

Also, if anybody wants an invitation i have just ONE to give away, first person to post here can get it

If you don't actually know what the "Venice Project" is - It's from the makers of Skype and it is a way of watching tv shows online "legally". Beta testing signup has closed.

It's been all over the media in Sweden since one of the owners Niklas Zennström is swedish (the other one is danish) and they also created Skype and Kazaa together.

Seems cool, but I prefer the TVU Player. I can watch several cable stations from around the world for free. You can even download software to serve your own channel to the public. http://www.tvunetworks.com/downloads/index.htm

At first you get 2 after around a month.

And then i got 5 a month later.

But i think they are expanding faster now, so you might get them quicker and more of them

I'd help, If i could, but it still doesn't seem to work on my computer, so i have no idea what it actually does. lol. The support people at Joost said my computer is higher than what is needed but for some bizzare reason it isn't working :(

It didn't work for me with the earlier versions, but it works nicely now with 0.8.

The graphics card is most probably the problem. nVidia refuse to make updates for it for some reason :(

I have the Nvidea 6600GT Graphics card, however that's on my Vista machine which is not supported by it anyways :p

I believe my other XP machine has a radeon 9500 SE or something like that.

It works beautifully on it :)

No one has any invites right now. You'll be added to the list anyhow. My 2 tokens when I first get them are already taken. So after that, I'll be donating them to FWS people

I got mine working on Vista... right click on it, choose properties then select run in compatiability mode - choose XP SP2. Click OK till you're outa there. Then right click again, and choose "run as administrator".
