I have no confirmed source of this, but the police chief from a local county here emailed a bunch of banks and what not regarding the Do Not Call List. He claims that the cell phone numbers are to be given to the telemarketers in 8 days, Jan 18th.
As I mentioned, I have no confirmed source that this will actually happen, but regardless, its a good reminder for us American folks to register all of our phone numbers and those of loved ones.

Everybody hates telemarketers. Can companies really increase sales with telemarketing to the point where they can justify hiring droves of telemarketing firm that, in the end, just piss people off?
Maybe they're just doing it to piss us off in the first place for not buying XYZ service.

Really it should be the other way around - telemarketers should only call numbers on a list.

I used to get telemarketers calling me on my cell phone 3 times a day (the same company).
When you called the number you went straight to an automated message with no options.
In the message on my cell it gave you an option to push a number or something to be connected to a live rep to purchase the product... i pretended like i wanted to buy it then i told the lady nicely "dont f--ing call me again or i'll sue you". Haven't gotten a call since.
Then another person tried to call me and I played with them for 15 minutes. Asking all kinds of weird questions in which she HAD to answer if she wanted my business with them. At the end of the convo I said, hmm who did you want to talk to again? she said my name then I said, oh well he's not here. Do you want to leave a message? She hung up :(

LOL - or ask 'them' to hold as their call is important to you.....

I say "hold on, let me put you on hold" then slam the phone down.
I always hope that they think they're on hold, and wait there sitting in their room for like 10 minutes.

There's that annoying "err-err-err" sound when the line's open for more than a few seconds that gives it away.

true... so you need to modify the phone to play music or something instead :D

what you could do is get one of those annoying "whistle songs" ... you know, the ones that pretty much make you deaf for days because of the high pitch.
when the marketer calls, say okay 1 second. Let me connect you to my supervisor, i will need to put you on hold. Then blast the song as loud as you can =D
she wont be calling anyone for weeks
