You want a dedicated server for like 20 or 30 bucks a month?
I doubt that will happen like, let's be honest, unless you want a dedicated server that's not so dedicated.
You could probably get a VPS (Virtual Private Server) for about 30/mo

Hey,

I think, there are many budget server provider who can provide dedicateds for this price because of course, they are fully unmanaged, low balanced servers like p2 or p3 and high resctricted bandwith usage and so on..

Maybe so. Although I have an Unmanaged server and I am paying over 100 bucks a month for it. And I couldn't ask for a better box.

Serverpronto.com has a $29.95 dedicated package with 40gb hd, 200gb bandwidth, AMD 2000+ and 256mb DDR ram. Not a bad package for someone looking to get started. But it has none of the perks like CPanel and Plesk. You would have to install webmin or another free control panel unless you shell out the extra cash for one of the more popular ones.

I know them, galaxy-solutions seems to be very good. Any other provider?

I can offer,
AMD Athlon XP 2000 server with 512 RAM, 120 disk space, 500 GB bandwidth/month and 10 IP addresses.

$47 a month, A bit over your $30 budget

This is the cheapest I can do, of course this is unmanaged, limited support, paypal payments due to the low costs involved.

This is a midrange server at a low price.

contact me more more info.

Just a question for Galaxy-Solutions...First, I love the impression site from softlayer.com's site.

Also, just curious, is it P4 or P3. Budget #2 on site shows a P4, but on order form, shows P3. ?

hmm, I also found a cheap one.

http://www.nkommunikation.com

What do you think about it?

They said that for low end server can give 1Tb bandwith!

heymrdj
January 30th, 2007, 14:49
Something's just not right about that. 2TB BW for only 50$ a month? That seems lower than Cogent....

Eclouds
January 30th, 2007, 15:11
Yea, be careful. Sounds more like you are looking at the price than anything else. You pay for what you get.

websolutions
January 30th, 2007, 15:29
Well, it is not just Cogent. Its actually a mixture of a couple of b/w providers, they provide Cogent less than the others. So, yes you will get quality b/w ;)

hmm, NetDirekt have same machines for offer but they only provide like 150Gb bandwith for these low end servers.

Servers which costs around 160$ has 2Tb bandwith at NetDirekt or Vectoral.

So I dont know what would be the quality of those servers at nkom

I've learned not to go cheap when getting dedicated server, which is why I'm shelling out $225/month for a fully-managed AMD dual-core with 1GB RAM, 80GB SATA, 500GB bandwidth. Its worth the price. No more cheap end Celeron servers from here on out.
a b
Additional Bandwidth outside 500 can of course be added at a fairly low price if I need it.
If your going dedicated, I'd say get at least a mid-range server, otherwise VPS is probably a better solution.

zwt
January 31st, 2007, 11:57
Hmm, I think, 225$ for this server is a bit expensive with this hdd/memory specifications.

By the way, Im with vectoral for about 2 months, and my server has 99.96 uptime (there was a 10 minutes down in january).

Archbob
January 31st, 2007, 13:10
The server is about $160, the rest of the price is because its fully managed.

Hey,

Its not a bad deal but the bandwith can be a bit more like 150 or 200Gb.

and whats the cost of further ips? Can I set reverse on it?

Where does the server located? is there any uptime quarantiee?

How long will my server up?

Is it fully unmanaged?

Thanks

Eclouds
February 7th, 2007, 13:26
We could work something out for you for some additional bandwidth. But it will be slightly more than 28.95. 250GB Bandwidth can be added instead for $8.95

Your server comes with 5 IP's. Additional IP's are available through your billing panel. Starting at $8 for a pack of 11. And you can set the reverse.

The server is located in PA and the uptime guarantee is 99.98%

The servers are setup depending on the order time. Orders placed after 12PM are up the same afternoon or the next morning depending on the queue. Orders placed at night are up before 9 AM the next morning.

And yes it is fully unmanaged. Look at the price ;)

Thank you.

heymrdj
February 7th, 2007, 14:34
sure,

and also there is 10Gb sata hdd

Anyone care to show me these HD's? Seriously, when SATA came out we were already putting 100GB on a SINGLE platter easily. We are now at an average of 160GB per platter. It is a watse of money to manufacture anything under 80GB. So please show me this 10GB SATA drive. Cause I think anyone that shows a 10-20GB SATA HD is just selling VPS's. Or he meant to say it was an old PATA hard drive, but no one should be selling those anymore, they are getting so old now they can be marked as unreliable.

Archbob

Hey,

Is it fully unmanaged?

Thanks

Come now, you can't actually expect any management on a dedicated for $28/month, can you?

Is probably a bare-bones server without management, a control panel, or any of the perks on a shared 10Mps port.

Actually shared 100mbps line. Thanks for the talking down though, shows exactly who you are.

Thats what I'd expect at $28/month. I can hardly get a good VPS at that price. You get what you pay for.

Hmm, like netdirekt and vectoral provide a dedicated 100mbps connection to their dedicated servers.

heymrdj: I should do a modification, those are IDE hdds :( sry
