You are right - our free plan does not support MySQL, as that costs money to provide. :)

It is free hosting after all. :) Things like MySQL use server resources, therefore we have to charge for them. Keep in mind that we do offer paid plans in addition to our main free plan, if you end up needing MySQL.

I think being one of the only free hosts to offer a Website builder and SEO tools really sets us apart. :)

You should have at least PHP support.

Let me tell you a story. :) I used to run a fairly popular free hosting company called Q151. In our first week after the launch, we had over 300 users. We were offering unlimited space, PHP, and all the goodies. New users poured in. But...we ran into trouble. Because we offered PHP, about half of our new clients were operating phishing sites (using PHP scripting to collect user's info). We also had several Chinese-based (and U.S.-based Comcast users) constantly hacking our service. Granted, we could have made this aspect of it more secure. But because of all of these troubles, after just less than a month, we closed down.

Now, almost a year later, I decided (in December) to go back into the free hosting business. This time around, we are a lot more successful! :) Though we do not yet have even 300 users, we are growing at a nice, manageable rate, and we have no problems with phishing sites and hackers.

That is why PHP is not offered on our free accounts. I hope that explains it well enough. If you have any questions about our service, though, either related to this or something else --- please ask me. I'll answer anything. :)
