I have a question about foreign hosts. Why is it that you can host a warez site on like a russian or german site but not on an american server. From what I've seen so far its only been like russian servers german servers and basically servers from the European part of the world.
Why is that?

Because of the laws of those countries. I don't know about Germany or Russia but I do know that Switzerland and the Netherlands are very keen on this kind of things.

What do you mean by keen like they are uptight about warez sites?

I don't know about German servers and European in general...the EU is tough on these things.
Generally speaking Russia is the best place to host warez. Sweden used to be cool, but they shut down the pirate bay last year I think it was, and so it's no longer safe to host warez there.
China is pretty good too, except the government can censor you if they say anything bad about them.
The reason why you can host warez in these countries, is that they don't have laws against it, and aren't interested in making laws against it.
Some of the biggest warez sites and I know of, and the biggest movie & music site is hosted in Russia, and have had no problems.
Although the US is pressuring Russia to do something about it, using their power to veto Russia's right to join the WTO.
I don't know how that'll turn out, but so far no warez sites are having any problems.

It is because Russia is a lawless place. :) Good for some, not so good for others!

things is in some country's uploading or downloading illegale content is considered illegal and in other country they dont
ex: the netherlands it's legale to download content except illegale software
and uploading is also considered illegale.
also european bandwith is more expsensive for some reason.

What? As far as I know, it's so ridiculously cheap, most ISPs don't even charge for it, just charge you for the connection fee.

might be true is server is located in the netherlands
i live in belgium (the small country just under it) :P
and everything is just more exspensive here
isp in the netherlands are unmetered bandwith but here in belgium they dont
like i pay for internet 60 euro and get 30gb download and 5gb upload
download: 20Mbps
upload 512 Kbps
for something the same in the netherlandse without bandwith limits you pay like 25euro.
i was thinking about buying a server and put it in another country or even in the US but i just dont like the idea that i'm unable to check my server.
i have a hard time trusting people and especialy someone over the internet...

you could but you would still need someone that you could trust in russia too...
and you would have to deny that that server is yours ofcourse ;)

rapidshare knows that an keeps one eyes closed cause they know that why premium accounts are for to download a movie or game with 55rar files lol
but when a compained is received they do remove the files.
and if you had made some software and you would see your software on rapidshare and request them to remove they would do it but after a while you get tired of asking them and start a law suite
if you catch my drift ;)

Yeh, course you could.
Though I'd recommend you go with a well-known host. Look up some warez sites you know on dnsstuff.com, and have a look what companies host them.
And pray to got their websites will have an English version.

Oh yeh, and why would that happen?
cause not every russian is relyable
it's well know that russian people take advantage of americans
luckely i'm not an american :D
the best thing to do is to have a good contact there that you can trust.
then you can ask him to take care of your server or look around for better offers
russian people wont ripoff their own people

Most Russian hosts are every bit reputable as American hosts or UK hosts, etc.
The main thing is, you should go with someone legit, there are ripoffs there like there are in USA, for example, those bastards serverorigin.com, but not any more per capita.
