I have a problem with recording.
Every time I click anything that makes something record, my computer restarts. I have no idea what to do for this.
Please help me. :-)

I think it's just a coincidence that your computer restarts when you try to record. But try and reinstall your sound card driver. That should fix it.

Right click on my computer, and go to the device manager.

I haven't unstalled it yet, because I don't know how I would re-install it. It didn't come with a disc anything.
Sorry, a newb to problems like this.

Windows usually finds the drivers for you. Simply go into device manager, click uninstall, and then reinstall the drivers.

Oh, and I forgot to mention.
This is both voice and video.

Sorry. :crying5:

Is this a computer like a compaq or HP? If so then everything you need is in the restore partition. It'll require restoring the computer to factory install though. If you end up having to do that then be sure to back up all your data.

If its a Dell you should have a cd with all your drivers on it and should be able to reinstall the drivers from there.

You could also try windows update. They may have an updated driver for your sound card. Just run windows update and look in the drivers section after its finished scanning your system.

It's a custom computer. does that change things?

Well, you said sound and video is the same thing?
Then you have a motherboard with an onboard sound card and onboard video card, right?

If you open you computer, look for the motherboard's manufacturer and a serial/model/number. It's usually either engraved or on a tiny sticker somewhere on the motherboard.

motherboard example: http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/directron/asusvintage2.jpg
In that case, it would be Asus (manufacturer) P45800-MX (model)

Then go to the manufacturer's website and use their drivers finding tool to find audio drivers for that specific motherboard.
