We're in the middle of a server move, which shouldn't take any longer than 24 hours. I contacted everyone by email, and all accounts have been suspended until further notice, probably tomorrow.

The move is taking longer than expected, and should be done within the next 24 hours.

Well, after waiting 48+ hours to have my accounts restored, it wasn't done. I found another host, but there is trouble with sending remote backups to the new server. (It's a problem with the previous host.) We may or may not be able to restore every account back on the new server, and at this point, it's not looking very good.

We'll keep you posted. If you were hosted with us previously, keep in mind, it is your own responsibility to keep a backup of your own site.

So he has to use the third part for backing up, doesn't he?

Possibly, or could just backed files and folders, and databases.

Either way, we're still working with it.

Thank you for the offer of helping, I appreciate it.

We have a backup of all, and we're doing our best to get them back up.

It has been confirmed that we cannot transfer any account to a new server, because our previous host will not allow it. (Although I was paying 25.00/month for hosting!)

Those fat bastards.....

I was in a similar situation many months back, well it sure weeds out all the inactive users :D

It's really a "figure 8" if you know what I mean. You don't want their service, yet you can't take your business elsewhere, because they won't allow it.

It's sad that all my users put so much time and effort into their work, and it can't be transferred.

The only thing I can really do is say that I'm sorry I'd chosen such a dirty host.

CNLucas, are you getting a VPS? You should get a VPS at least so you will be flexible in managing hosted accounts and everything.

If you do chose a VPS, I'd recommended making sure the host will put you on a node with SLM on it. The box seems much more stable then with ubc :)

I'd responded to the owner basically stating that it was ridiculous they're refusing to assist a paying customer in backing up their accounts, and he responded with the following. Keep in mind, he stated they don't allow backing up by FTP, only to say that it's working normally?

Lucas,

Thanks for writing in.

I have tested the backup feature and found it to be working fine.

Regrettably, we cannot support a non-fat network servers' ability to
retrieve their backups from our system. We know our system is configured
correctly, and we also know our backup system works. If you would
like, I will help you with downloading your backups, through the cpanel
backup interface, however, I cannot support some non-Fat Network servers'
inability to connect with ours. Have you considered for a moment that
your new server just won't connect with ours ??

P.S> It would appear you have already chosen to take your business
elsewhere following the cancellation of your paypal subscription earlier
today, so I really doubt my last comments were of any consequence, and
not that it matters. The fact is, I'm here to help you with what I can,
but I cannot make miracles and I certainly cannot fix/diagnose a
competitors server just becuase you decide to move there. When you moved
your sites here, we assisted you with the move to Fat Network. Now that
you are moving somewhere else, it would be up to the new host to help
you with the transition to them. The sad part is you will not easily
find knowledgeable support techs like ourselves elsewhere; having said
that, I suppose your new host simply doesn't know how to manage their own
server... not surprising considering anyone with $69 can buy a server
and call themselves a web host.

I've found another home elsewhere. We'll get it all started again, just will be a matter of time. It's sad, really.

I kindof agree with Rick here. It would be your new host's 'job' to migrate you over to them, not your old one. From what I'm reading you wanted Fat Networks to directly transfer everything to your new host.

No, I would've manually transferred them via cPanel backup feature FTP to another server. They've disabled the use of the cPanel backup FTP feature. They don't have to do anything, nothing at all.

They won't allow my new host to transfer them either, being they've disabled the FTP function.

I kind of agree with him too to be honest but like, who does he think he is downgrading another host provider that he knows nothing about? "You won't find knowledgeable tech support elsewhere" would he like to put his money where his "Fat" mouth is?

Geez!
