how much do you earn from ads

could some one be kind enough to explain how it all works.

and generally how much they earn a week or month (£ please)
whats the average unique visits of an average site?
is it worth making money from ads if u have a good website which will bring visitors.

im not looking to make a job of it...just some extra cash to fund webhosting

don't look at it like that, you can't just jump in making a profit.
consider buying a site that already makes a profit:)

Some may get $1000 a day, some may get a few pence a day. It all depend on your site and what ad company/s you choose.

Yes, it really all depends. When I started my site back in May '04, I obviously made nothing really. Now that my site has grown and is popular, I make between $20-40 a day, and that keeps growing. Never expect instant high profit, that's just another "I want to make money for nothing" expectation. :)

I get like $0.00 (waaah!) to around $0.50 a day, but Im trying to get my site popular so I earn more...

at the moment im only making from around $0.50 to $5 per day due to my site having a large downtime now i have gone from 1000 unique visiters to a few hundred a day hopefully i will get back up.
