Hi.
I'm wondering which is the best one in terms of biggest pay per click?
Has anyone done tests or comparisons on a typical hobby site (non business related).
Thanks.

Yea well it seems that Google is still best.
But say google adsense didn't exist, which would best be after it?

If google adsense didn't exist, the other clones wouldn't either ;)

I use google, bidvertiser and adbrite. My site is quite new so none of them has made money. So I don't really know which is best, but there are some advantage which make little difference between programs.
I think bidvertiser is easier to modify than adbrite and you can select does money come in check or to your paypal account. I really like that change to get money on paypal.
Best in adbrite is that it kinda tells how valuable your site is. There is different ad prices in program and I like to see how much is my sites adversary value.

If you don't want to lose your google account, I would suggest you remove the other contextual ads from your site. Haven't you read their TOS?

I have read TOS, but there was little misunderstanding. Thanks for warning that google doesn't like other contextual ads. I decided drop google, but I have heard so much good opinions about it that I put it back later when my site gets more visitors and I doesn't test other programs so much.

Actually, I thought google now allows other contextual ads as well. The only catch the is that the other contextual ad can't be same in appearance and they can't be very close to each other.
YPN suppose to have the highest CPC, but adsense is better as a contextual ads thus more CTR.

AdSense has usually always paid more for me (though I've only used AdBrite out of the others you list).

I don't think anything compares to Google. None of them even begin to pay as much, partly because they have a very hard time attracting worthwhile advertisers. Google attracts ads that people want to find out about.

Of the three BIGS ... google, bidvertiser and adbrite, I would prefer GOOGLE. Definitely it pays.

I'm about to get banned from adsense (methinks), and I'm trying out AdBrite. I know it starts off low but after you get established more advertisers will bid on your links and clicks will go up.
And I agree that Google Adsense seriously needs a good reviewing, but I wouldn't go as far to say it's a scam.

I'm about to get banned from adsense (methinks),
Why do you think that? Been doing something wrong?
Edit: I think I see why. The first URL in your sig that I looked at (cheeky) had three ad units on a no content page, the second one I looked (frisky) at had 2 ad units on a no content page.

Good point, but that's not what they said was wrong. Well, they wouldn't actually say what was wrong - they said they couldn't tell me due to privacy issues or some similar crap. They havn't actually banned me or disabled my account per say, but my payments are on hold.
Anyway, I'm off to write some content!

but my payments are on hold.
That could be for a number of reasons. I had that once but it was because a previous cheque was returned to them. I now get payments sent direct deposit :) There should be a link for you to follow when you login which will explain why it is on hold.

April 15th, 2007, 09:25
Well, I am getting it by direct deposit anyway.
But now you mention it - a few days ago I was having problems paying for something with paypal, saying my card was being rejected. But then 30 mins later it all started working again.
The required action is:
"Required Action
Payment issue - please contact AdSense Support"
I've already emailed them (twice actually) and still no reply. It's not even payday till the 25th, so why would there be a payment issue at this time of month anyway?

From https://www.google.com/adsense/reports-payment
15th: Deadline for setting a hold (https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=15926&sourceid=aso&subid=ww-ww-et-asui&medium=link) changing your form of payment, submitting tax information & entering a PIN. All holds must be removed to receive payment.

I've never, ever manually put a hold on my payments.
And this cropped up 2 days ago.

I like bidvertiser because they pay $10 min payout through paypal and google you have to wait till you have $100 and its only by check.

You don't need to do tests really. Adsense and YPN comes first. The others are minors compared to them two.

Google has great payouts relatively speaking, yahoo used to dominate but sine then has really scaled back.

I don't think Yahoo has ever dominated the market. Definately not out of the US anyway.

Google best here for me.
I have tried some of the others, but never got good performance. I use adbrite too, but the CTR is not very good for ads that are shown via their system.
