I think it would help if posts in paid hosting requests locked themselves after 2-3 weeks
At that time if the person is still looking for requests they may request it to be unlocked..

well its there own fult really,
No one ever requests there topic be locked after theyfound what they needed
And its also hosts fult as they dont even read the whole thread tofind out if its been finshed
This would clean up the forum & no offence but if you cant find what you need in 3 weeks theres somthing wrong.....

But hence by a simple request they can get there topic reopend if they havnt found hosting for another 2-3 weeks
Would also make it easyer on the mods not having to close peoples topics

Quite a few do, Or they post that they have chosen a host and we close.

We don't generally close them when a host states that the OP has chosen him/her. I personally would rather take the OP's word for it.

No offence but if you can find what you need in 3 weeks there's something wrong. It's best to shop around, find every host that is good, what you're looking for. Going with the first host you see that is offering what you want at a cheap price or at any price is what gets you in to trouble.

I do bang my head against the wall when members know about it and don't report it! :evilb:

Jan, when you feel like banging your head against a wall, talk to me.

But I do agree, it gets annoying.
Is there a mod for such a thing?

:p

Yes there is http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=110320 but I don't think it can be tweaked to close automatically when someone has found a host :D

Well no need to lock threads, paid requests arn't as serious as some people think, it's just a place for people with no money to get the lowest quotes possible from desperate hosts.

Complaining about it only gives Dan more opportunities to flirt with Jan.

On namepros above every code help thread there's a link for the OP to click on to mark the thread as resolved. It puts [resolved] at the front of the thread title and closes the thread.

Maybe something like this would be ideal for hosting requests. Just an idea.
