Going to write my own Email client in .NET.
So if any of you want the application when I'm done post here along with your email or I'll just post a link to the download.
Post any features you'd like and I'll see about implementing them.
It's going to be as lightweight as possible.
So hope you like it when it's done! :P

Every email client I have ever used is missing one major component, and that to block the thousands upon thousands of emails with words like ------ in, write a feature that takes care of that and ppl will use it; it would save me sooooo much time and occasionally feeling sick, when I recieve special offers for penis pumps and such.

Joe, Gmail has that :D.
It's by far the best email client out there - and it's web-based!

I don't want to have to jump over adverts or mess about signing in, I always use outlook express for my email for that reason, also, when google-talk is signed in for me, it beeps a couple of times an hour at least with spam.

No, they're not, they're email messages are delayed. Some of mine in the past have been delayed ~24 hours.

Those adverts are seriously a problem for you?
I barely even notice them.
And you can disable chat in a link at the bottom.

How do you guys want it to start. I'm thinking when you start there is a window that asks for the server details.
Ie.
Username Text field, drop down box(POP3, SMTP, etc.)
Password
Login/Cancel buttons
than it logs in and receives your emails

Think outlook express, with actual features, can't be dealing with putting my info into it everytime I start it, use the registry or a configuration file, also needs to be able to poll more than one mailbox for messages......also needs to check regularly like every 3 - 5 minutes automatically.....

i would say, more outlook than outlook express, but yeah, agreed with the storing info

Please, PLEASE, have a feature to wildcard email addresses. For example, *@blahandblahbuythisandthat.com.

All good suggestions - one feature to think about - multiple instances of the client for different profile settings :)

settings to stop form items or images / js being displayed without asking, like outlook has, a lil popup with new messages like msn has, loud noise for mail with urgent flag, reponse reciepts, run as a service so mails are recieved and messages sent to user without process running for gui ..... I'll be back ....
