hi there, I am in need of a host that allows ssh access and will let me use commands such as "WGET" so i can transfer files from my other servers into this one.

If there are any please reply, I do not want a dedicated server as i cannot afford it.

If you cannot afford a dedicated server, you may consider getting a VPS as you get full root acess with a VPS and it's an affordable option to a dedicated server.

its been my experience that FTP works just as good as WGET maybe better b/c with ftp u dont have to upload one at a time any how most host WONT allow shell b/c of the LARGE SECURITY issue but if you want it i will offer it but i will CHARGE alot MORE and you will be HEAVILY MONITORED and any INFRACTIONS will lead to INSTANT account TERMINATION if you can accept these terms then tell me what specs your looking for and we will make you an offer

Hi,

We allow SSH access on all our accounts (no background processes that stay alive after log-out / IRC access though).

Visit http://www.ravenservers.net if you are interested in performance web hosting.

Best wishes

Can I ask what your budget is and how much space, transfer etc you are looking for? What is your site about? What files you will be using SSH to transfer? Can you provide Photograph ID, Proof of Address etc?
Not saying that I will offer it but I believe any hosting provider who does offer SHELL and not ask these questions are not pushed about their server security.

From my understanding InternalX does not offer SSH.

My mistake - They offer shells, but not shells + hosting.

And on Deise's note, I agree that this information is a basic necessity to any credible host.

Why don't you use FXP?
You can also use the cPanel backups to transfer your files over from your other server.
