This is a very common belief, and misconception .. And of course, we once again have the media to blame. I've thought for a long, long time that the media always places too much emphasis on the nationalities/religions/etc of criminals/victims/etc.

I refuse to judge.

I refuse to look at you, and observe that you're Muslim, and let that change the way I treat you. If I am going to be courteous to my Australian/Christian neighbour, then I will also be courteous to you.

But no, I refuse to judge someone on religion or race alone.

I have no problem with religion, I do not believe in it, and have some negative views against it, but I can live with other people "wanting" to believe in a religion.

But.

I do have a problem with the face wear the Muslim women wear. I want nothing to do with someone if I cannot see their face.

I can understand that. But I won't judge from an outsider's point of view - I am simply not educated enough on the issue to understand their culture. Do the women actively choose to live this way, even in Australia? Are they forced to by their husbands? Is it a choice made out of religious devotion, or fear?

I wish threads like these could contribute to my general knowlege, say it's generally acknoledged that christianity is a "peaceful" religion, and this point of view is based on the line from Matthew 5:39 "If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also."
What exactly is muslim intilerance based on? Anyone who's read Quran here?

Quran is as much same as the Bible expect for the fact that they take Jesus as a prophet and claims that it isn't Jesus who was crucified but look like disciple of his.The first thought which comes to every one when the word Muslim rings is terrorist because it is how illiterate & ignorant they are on this topic. Living in a Muslim country , I have seen there love and passion for their religion,Have met Muslim friends but still don't know why no one has pointed a gun at me!!80-90% of the Muslims don't support jihad movement or terrorism, now you may wonder how people turn out to be terrorist? Muslims are basically divided into two, Sunnis and shias, Both hate each other and would do anything to kill each other (this may not be true everywhere) and Most Muslim Religious leader are the culprits of jihad movement, Like we sent our kids for Sunday school, Muslim parents send there kids for Quran classes where there implicant leader brain wash kid's and raise the angry against other religion or caste and They make the kids believe that by dying for their religion , Allah (God) will be satisfied and they would go to Heaven. Same works for elderly people, They focus on People who lost their loved ones from a war or any thing which they can reason.

Now the question raises why do we call Muslims terrorist, because a few anti- human group go around killing them self with others? We call this before the government has never sanctioned a movement like this? What should we call the against Afghanistan & Iraq by G.Bush all about? Isn't it an act of terrorist by the Christians? or is it just a called against terrorist? Christians are taught to love there enemies? or did i hear the wrong sermon all these years? Whose going to pay for the lost loved one? How did terrorist movement grow like a rapid fire? Who supported them?

As a muslim I:

1) don't support 9/11. That day should never happen :(

2) don't support terrorism but I support iraqi fighters. cnn & bbc call them insurgent, bush call them terrorist, south american call them rebel, muslim call them mujahid or jihadis. I simply call them fighters.

The reason the majority of muslims are considered terrorists is because when the terrorists strike, the non-terrorist muslims stay relatively quiet. They don't condemn enough the actions of the terrorists and therefore give the impression they approve their actions.
