Hi Colin,
I can give you an 80 gig dedicated server sith all the bandwidth you want. All you would have to pay is the ONE TIME FEE of $60. No monthly fees, I don't believe in them. PM me if you are interested. FYI: I have a dual xeon server with 1.5 GB RAM. Here is my site: if you need anything else: http://www.permanentfixture.com

So basically, you are saying you will give him a dedicated server and all he pays you is $60 one time and never have to pay you again?

Anyone missing the numbers
2400Gb/month
If I can find a DC wall I can drive a core drill through I could maybe tap a fibre and supply for that amount for the cost of the drill bit (about 2 to 3 months worth), and that's just for the transfer amount. Then a few blocks out of the same wall and a flying SATA cable to a disk outside in a weatherproof housing, posted to you on request.
No harm Colin but can you get an extra disk added to your server - would cost about the same or less as the transfer amount would be extreme.

thanks for the link to that thread Patrick :)
we do have some really nice deals on remote backup now if you are interested. This is a professional backup environment with Raid 5 redundancy and rsync capabilities with no bandwidth limitations. The machines your backup data is on are only used for this purpose.
You can pm me here if you like regarding custom solutions and pricing.
Thanks,
Reed

Nice one Decker
what is the postage cost like these days
would rather not get a secondary hard disk as my servers have been hacked in the past and i lost all the data on them thus wanting remote backup.

decker it won't be that much bandwidth due to the way rsync works. It only transfers over changed files to the backup server. Since most website owners really do not change much you will find that it is hardly noticeable.
Also adding a second hard disk is nowhere near a full scale raid 5 backup solution. It has saved a few clients of mine on several occasions, everyone deletes by accident and occasionally people do get hacked.

One small Tom Cruise and an mp3 player with the theme tune for MI4 is quite cheap I hear :) I see what your after and why.
Avail I never said otherwise just a suggestion, and I agree hard to beat a RAID5 - you do use 4 disks for each don't you ;p can't forget the parity disk!
For $40 I could suggest an alternate at the same cost with the same 80Gb - http://www.jewlzk.com/clientarea2/order.php 80Gb off network backup storage. Tell Roland FWS sent you :)

I would sell you that for $35/month if you're interested? I would need to create a custom package for you, but I would be able to do that easy for you. If you're interested, send me an email to: hosting@kokoskrazy.com! Thanks :)

Thought about getting a oversold server space over at 1and1?
Jordan Mclay

Wouldn't last at 1and1 , they dont let you use the space specified also they state in the tos that the content cant be used as personal backup purposes

most places simply are not designed for backup services which is the main problem.
secondary drives, spare servers, folders all have a single point of failure.
If you can get 100gb of Raid5 redundant storage for $15/mo how can you go wrong?

Still up to the OP to confirm not you.
Questions why a post with an offer was removed though.
