Hi,

I would like to start a business and just need some information and would like o discuss these 3 payment getaways: PayPal, MoneyBookers, Google Checkout & 2Checkout.

I recently got my PayPal locked because they believe it was accessed by a 3rd party which im 99% sure it is false. I have also recently heard that PayPal is a load of rubish. They are bad.

Can anyone tell me if I had a company and used MoneyBookers & Google Checkout only; would I lose customers? Would they be hard to gain?

Can anyone describe google checkout and moneybookers on how good they are?
Lastly 2 Checkout, how good is it? If I receieved a $5 payment from my customer how much would I get charged for this from 2checkout?
Is it safe and secure??

and any other info on these payment getaways...

Thanks :)

2checkout is decent, for starting the price is 5.5% and $0.55 with 5% holdings for 30 days. However they are indeed useful.

Google Checkout should be good, it is backed by google however never used it.

Money brookers is decent, if your not from the UK it is hard to keep in contact with them. However they are a decent company.

PayPal, MoneyBookers, Google Checkout & 2Checkout
They are all good reputable companies. The disadvantages with Moneybookers and Google Checkout is that they do not have as many registered users as paypal. 2checkout does not require you tho have an account, but they are expensive.

well 2Checkout is only a 1 time fee of $49.99 or w/e the fee is and 5.5% + 0.55 isn't that much if you are looking forward to grow in size.

2Checkout is not something you would use for ever its a starting point. Until you are bringing large amounts in then you get a better merchant.

The $49 start up is not that bad. Its the 5.5% + $0.55 that wil get expensive. You will make less off each sale with 2checkout. For example if you had 100 sales in a month totaling $1000, you would pay 2checkout $110 of that. But if you used a gateway charging 3.3% + $0.33 you would be paying the gateway $66 of the total. That is a difference of $44 per month or $528 per year.

yes, thats true... so 2Checkout is good for the begining... ok.
I will have to checkout Google Checkout as it seems nice and interesting.

Lets say my business would advance, i there any other better gateway then 2Checkout?

PayPal is a great service becuase of the options they offer. They offer both credit card and account payments. PayPal users can add Bank Accounts, Debit Cards or Credit Cards to their accounts to get payments transferred. It is a very secure service, and most people on the net know of them as a safe company to pay and purchase from companies who offer payments through them.

Only problem with PayPal now is that, like most companies these days, they are getting very greedy and charge fees. I would check them out and their "%'" charts to see how much they really charge, but when it comes to buying online, I know that I am all PayPal.

I have been a paypal member for a long time, I never remember them *not* charging fees. I mean you are using their service, I wouldn't expect it to be free.

My paypal account is unverified too, but it's not exactly a year.

I probably can't verify mine until a few years more. :(

If you do not take paypal, you will lose a lot of sales. It really is as simple as that.

That is actually a great proactive security measure. If it was accessed by a third party, then the probably saved you from having someone steal your money or use your account for illegal purposes.

Well PayPal has always charged fees, what I said was that they are beginning to charge more. Still not an insane amount though. I will be sticking with PayPal

yes true but you need to fax them your details... which takes time for them to validate...

paypal has largest base of user so you will be losing paypal customers if you don't accept paypal payments
2CO , moneybookers, chronopay, jensleypay, stormpay etc are very small when you compare with paypal

2CO has good reputation, moneybookers supports all countries so it is also a good option.
