Logo review & layout review

Hello.

I am currently after some feedback on my brand new Gallery logo, which can be seen on the following link: CoasterChronicle.co.uk (http://coasterchronicle.co.uk/main.php)


Also, if you can help me, I am currently in decision of what colours to use on the background when I decide to make my own theme for my Gallery2 software, so anyone who has used this software and made a skin for it before, if you can help, it'd be much apreciated.

The logo looks OK, even though I am not sure what is the image in the background.
