I have recently purchased the Cpanel Evolution Skin and I didn't get the welcome email. The guy Roy doesn't allow you to open tickets and the live chat area doesn't seem to be working. I think he is taking people's money and running with it? I have noticed too that the script says the number 2004 at the end of it. It don't say that on the site. What should I do about getting my money back? I think I am not going to even attempt to do an install for this addon if its not supported.

If you used Paypal you can probably get a chargeback.
Or call your CC company if you used CC to stop the payment?

I used Paypal but would opening a dispute on a digital item work?

No harm trying, right? :p
Besides, they're normally side their users.

Thanks for posting this. I originally thought of purchasing a skin from these guys but something just seemed off about their site. File a dispute with paypal, it may help you get your money back from these guys..

I tried installing this awhile ago. The install went smoothly, but then problems started. The support was no existant, and when someone was there, all they asked for was SSH login, and never logged in (Email alert) at all, updating the ticket saying: "Has that fixed it?" or "Try restarting your server".
I could then not uninstall it, and after removing the files, had to change settings on every account.

I just opened a dispute. If it goes well, I'll get my money back. I'm not getting my hopes high. I'll tell you if I get my money back from them.

Dunno, but according to PayPal's ToS. No refund for you on a claim. Try the hard way, threaten or be very harsh!

As long as you give them proof that you purchased it and it doesn't work as advertised...or simply there's something wrong with the product, they're known to give in to the client.

Hi, I am the developer of Cpanel XP EVO II, thanks to echo_unlimited of cPanel forums for the heads up to this thread. It upsets me to see a customer in distress.
Here is what it boils down to for this case: communication breakdown.
According to my helpdesk records, I have replied to you on Jun 11 2007 (06:31), 9 Hours 43 Minutes 44 Seconds after you've submitted your initial ticket. Not stellar by any measure I must say, but I did respond ASAp.
Ralph, have you been able to receive emails for that particular email (*****@grabyourhosting.com)?
My messages might've triggered a false alarm on your spam filter, check your SPAM box. This happened to one customer recently, we couldn't establish any form of communication until he got his email account straightened out.
It was real frustrating on our side and theirs, that's all I can tell you.
I will try to contact you from my Gmail account, if that works then the problem might be that my server is getting blacklisted by some RBLs.
In case you are not happy with this whole situation and wanted a refund, let me know, you don't have to wait for good ol' Paypal to reach a decision. You WILL get your money back if you don't intend on holding on to the script.
And just for the records, no, we are not a fly-by-night type of outfit. Cpanel XP has been around since 2002. But yes, we do have our own share of problems every now and then but we always try resolve things in a timely and professional manner.
hosting-shack, let me know your support ticket ID.
internalx, a picture of Rosie O'Donnell would've done a better job IMHO.
Have a good one everybody

Roy,
I would love to give you a ticket ID, but there is no point now, the server in which it was installed on is long since gone. I paid, and thats money down the drain, I am fine with that, and so too should you ;)
After all, you have to try things at least once, right?

Roy gave me a password but I still cannot login. I have reset my password since then. I think thats why it gives me an error message.

Well I decided to cancel my subscription. The Skin did not work in Cpanel and the skin seems way out of date. The forums that they own have alot of spam bots since they use probaly an old version of phpbb. Anyways, Bye Cpanel Skin Depot. Nice knowing you.........
