I just got this e-mail. The new bandwidth metering system is in place and fully
functional. From March 16, to the end of the month, every
account gets 500MB of bandwidth (1000MB for Platinum members).
Effectively, twice what you'll normally be allotted each month.

If you reach 80% of your allotment, you'll be sent a warning
with a link to add bandwidth. Once you use your allotment, your
website will be put on hold for the remainder of the month until
you add bandwidth.

Adding bandwidth is very simple and quick, and doing so will
instantly re-activate an account put on hold. Credit Cards are
accepted via a secure online form. Increments of 500MB, 1000MB,
and 2000MB may be purchased for $3, $4, and $5 respectively.
These rates are extremely competitive and were intended to be so
you could host your popular site with minimum cost.

On the 1st of every month, your bandwidth will be reset to 500MB
(1000MB for Platinum members). Keep in mind how long until the
end of the month when deciding how much bandwidth you need.

Also, the hot-linking restriction has been removed. Yes, you
can link to pictures from other websites and forums! So long as
it's not abused, it will become a permanent feature.

Thanks again for making this place the best. :)

Actually, it turned out they were pretty decent, but with this limit, it is just insane to use it. Heck, my site has almost no graphics, and only 6 files for download, the largest of which is 1.8MB and it has already used 781MB. 500MB he he he he

<edit> In fact I take what I said back. CRAP!!!!!!! LOOK AT THOSE ADS !!!!! They are bigger than half tha page!!!!!! http://patrician2.250free.com/main.html

I tried these people about a month ago and was unimpressed with the crappy service they have. Its just a blantant ripoff to get people to sign up for the paid service. Its one thing to offer and emphasize the paid service, but to railroad users into needing to use it for preventing eye damage...that's poor business ettiquette. How many ads does it take to get the middle of a Tootsie pop? The world may never know...unless 250free keeps at it.

If you cant afford to offer free services, DONT OFFER IT.

Yeah, what's the point of 250 mb of storage if nobody can see your site!?
