I like Pentiums better, but that AMD with the RAM is looking good, just make sure they are located in a reliable datacenter, as at those prices, I would be a little scared about reliability.

actually i checked the companies out on WHT and it seems like everyone is giving good reviews about both. The amd seems like it gets the best ratings though

they both have there ups and down.. Ask your self this since the CPUS will be close to =, Do you need more ram and HDD or more bandwidth?
If you answer Bandwidth go with the P4 D if you answer ram and HDD go with the amd.

Well which one helps more with when people run more tasks at the sametime. I had a problem in the passed because my server kept crashing due to too many people trying to access the content at the same time. Also i added another package to the equation :
AMD Athlon X2 4200+
» 250GB Storage
» 2GB DDR RAM
» 4TB Bandwidth (2in + 2out)
» 5 Dedicated IP's
» cPanel/WHM + Fantastico
» Fully Managed*
Total Recurring: $199.99 Monthly

The AMD "AMD Athlon X2 4200+" performs better and more efficiently than the Pentium D and is faster than the "AMD X2 3800+". If it's CPU you need, the "AMD Athlon X2 4200+" is the way to go.
Saying that, I assume the 4200+ is my offer - I can for $20 extra per month, upgrade that CPU to one of the following:
AMD Athlon X2 5200+ CPU
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 CPU
Both of the above are wonderfully fast and efficient CPU's, and if that’s what you need, and you get allot of page views of dynamic content, the CPU is the thing you want to upgrade.

I completely agree with hosting-shack. I might just add to his rep for that. Knowledge is power.
