Out of curiosity from the other web host out there are most of your customers nationally based or internationally based. I am thinking of advertising on UK based hosting forums as US dollars will be cheaper but then again nothing is closer than home so advertising nationally won't be a bad idea neither. Which do you think is a better idea to advertise with

Advertise locally and gain customers from your home land or advertise internationally and gain more customers from a foreign land.

I am "international" but use two hosts who didn't get my business from advertising, although one does.

This is a good question. To answer it, you have to look at the services you are providing, and the prices you can charge. I would not recommend offering service to the UK in USD, as you won't get very many customers. Instead, and if you can still do this relatively cheaply, offer hosting in GBP. The UK market is ripe for the picking when it comes to hosting - all of Europe is, in fact. But you must offer the services in local currencies (namely, the Euro and GBP).

I hope that helps.

advertise where ever you want to, and where ever you feel you can find a good niche. Our clients are about 50-50 either US or UK, and If I remember correctly, we have one from spain and one from aus. but i'd have to double check.

We have clients from the US and UK as well as clients all over Europe, Asia, North America, South America and Australia. Oh yes we do have at least one from Africa as well. So I would say advertise anywhere you can provide a service at a competitive rate.

This company (http://www.exportal.pl/), which I am in no way affiliated with, has a list of the places their clients are from on the index page.

For my oppinion, U need to consider ur target audience. You may advertise in the top traffic forum but the best is those discussing with e-commerce forum rather than hobbies if your site is doing something e-commerce.

Hi,

We have clients locally (South Africa) and many from India, Russia and US. I have one or two from UK, but surprisingly not that much that I can remember.

Best wishes
