Is there anything that would stop a few web hosting companies from pitching in on an enom account to buy domains (splitting the costs)?
Does anyone know anything about this?

I'm not sure this would be allowed, if it was, then the few web hosting companies will have to really trust each other with this sort of thing.

Nothing wrong with it. Although due to certain branding limitation such the whois output and such, it would be advisable to get an account and create sub accounts which each individual host uses. As an ETP you will be able to create sub resellers.

I dont think there is anything wrong with it as i know it but as others have said their would have to be alot of trust between these companies especially with the monies involved.
