By waiting till your host is over a year old. And as UT said, by having a better name than blood host ;)

Blood Host isn't bad.
When I was starting the web hosting I named my company by then Incest Power Branding by then :P ( I didn't know what Incest was that time).

Well, it depends what you offer. Why should your clients choose you? Rather than mine ;) (kinda selfish, but no thanks).

When I've started I was about 14 years old and it's been few years now...it doesn't exist anymore :P

With yours a more unique design would probally help out. Alot of startup companies do use the templates etc. However it does damage sales, as viewers say "humm iv seen this site before, did they steal it" things along that line. So they go away to a more unique company.

A unique template with eye catching design attracts more customers while a feaky designs scares customers away. The first rule. Use owned content. No copy/paste.

Like Richard said, you have to really maintain your site...looking through every little bit. The design, reputation and support matter.
