Edit: You must have high quality image re-rendering software to be able to see the plate.

First you should edit the perspective so that the license plate bocomes flat , then re-render it . Try a gray scale conversion and a bit more contrast to it , might help .

But you know about image rendering ???
The A99 'somethng' 305 plus the make and model would be enough to pin it down to an owner if the plate is genuine.
What did they shoplift for all this trouble?

What did they shoplift for all this trouble?
I'd also love to know ;) Why not ask your local traffic department to search given all the above information - I mean it could be narrowed down to only one of 9 if it's a number and given the model car I am sure it won't be any problem at all ^^

well, the description of it having a toolbox, means the person may be in construction, but it does not have a rack on the top, which tells us that they either could not afford a rack / ladders OR their boss supplies them. I have taken the photo (on a CD) and given it to my boss. It is no longer my problem, although I did give him the tips / information above.
Thanks for your help,
Chris

Hi,
You did a great job - it always makes me happy to know that there are other people who may work a casual job (I assume this, but I do a casual job myself) to get by the bills, etc but will also still go the extra mile (in comparison to the other workers).
Your boss should be proud ;)
