We were considering offering E-Gold as payment. I remember at one point seeing a thread on how to cash out e-gold. Can someone recommend a way of cashing it out that is safe? Otherwise, we're a little afraid of it...

Make sure the Anti Virus program is updated and Firewall in online when you want to open the e-gold account. Most properly is the throjan which will track the password when you entring it in the e-gold login page.

What are you on about :eek3:
serverorigin You can easily, you can use any of the brokers on the e-gold website, we use the London Gold Exchange for our transactions and never had any problems.

Yes, simply refer to an e-gold verified exchanger and they'll do it with pleasure for you.

Hi serverorigin,
Well I personally use a debit card and have the E-Gold funds withdrawn from that - I find this method the most practical, but bearing in mind that it also has the most fees :(

Thanks for the input guys. We have decided to start accepting e-gold. We will see how it works since we are using Maxmind and telephone verification on questionable orders.

Haven't noticed that option, how does it work (which debit card?) is it an exchangers card that you can load from your account?

Hi Decker,
Yeah, it's not really a traditional option - basically you order an ATM card that you pay someone using E-Gold to load using their money. It has quite a few risks attached but if you know who to go through it can be pretty safe.

You mean phishing sites? Those are designed to trick stupid people. ;)

I think e-gold sucks, I signed up for it and they never emailed my back with acccount information etc.

What kind of fees are you actually looking at once you cash out? We chose not to go with e-gold because it's too complicated, they need to just make it easier for me to get my money.

It's mostly conversion fees, most require a minimum conversion amount. So by the time you accept the payment convert the payment you end up loosing to much money for me to be honest..

Ever get the feeling that means you were refused an account :eek3:
We've used it to fund domain renewals for years now, so never lost a penny :) - in fact it normally gains value just sitting there even with the storage fees :D
All you need is a broker account (pick one that doesn't charge over the odds for conversion).

Just because the email didn't arrive in your inbox doesn't mean they didn't send it. Have you ever thought that it might be a problem on YOUR side? Especially since so many people actually DO receive the email without problems?
Even if it's a problem on their side, that's not a reason to publicly post that they "suck".
You have a lot to learn.

E-gold is way safer than Paypal when it comes down to charge backs. Once the deal is made with E-gold its Final!
The bad thing about E-gold is if your account get stolen and the money was transfered out there's no way of getting your money back.
