I can't seem to get any support from a few of my hosts this weekend.
Maybe this is common?

Someone forgot to give me that memo. We offer weekend support and I have personally been working today.

It depends, some hosts offer support on the weekend some dont. Just depends on the host really..me personally i work on the weekends but i do start a little later in the day. However tickets are always available :)

Never personally seen a host that does Monday-Friday support, although i can understand they may be slightly slower. :)

If the customer catches me on msn, then yes.

Well. I myself have no life and so I am open to offering support all the time. Problem is no one needs support >.< Gets boring some days.

What's a 'weak end'? Mine just blur from one to the next so yep we do 7 days :)

PS alley have you setup your emails yet as there are 2 for you stuck in the mail queue :)

Yep, even on holidays. Live sales chat not 24/7 though.

We handle sales 7 days a week as well as support. Response times for Non-Emergency tickets are more delayed for weekends but emergency tickets are usually within 30 minutes.

We offer main support 7 days a week, and take calls mostly on weekends rather than tickets, but different hosts do it differently. My provider has their level 1 and 2 staff on, but their techs don't come back until Monday, the business day.

We provide but still, no requests. Everyone is happy with their service. :D

Most our tickets are pre-sales, and we get loads each day, regardless of it being a weekend or not.

If you are getting no tickets (Be them support or pre-sales) on a weekend, you must be doing something wrong :S

As a quick question. do some people outsource support for the weekends ?

krakjoe
August 28th, 2007, 05:56
I don't outsource support at all, I do it all by myself, I only have a few clients so I manage to keep on top of it most of the time, and I'll offer support anytime I'm near a pc, which is almost all the time I'm awake ... I even take the laptop to the toilet with me lol ...

lol @ Joe. I see what you mean, and i know most like to keep support in house. But i just wondered if it were possible, and if people did it.

I've always offered weekend support, for every host I run.

James

Some hosts offer support only on weekends, barring no extra weekend homework to hand in on Monday morning.

Talking from experience James? ;)

But you do raise a valid point.

I never did my homework, so no. But that is how the talent technicians are created.

I guess I should have worked as a supertech at PCWorld or something.

Wish somebody would

Bit wary of the guys introduced as the experts when they come out with lines like "of course we can configure your wireless router at home miss - how much memory does your PC have?" - no really I was in line at the checkout when it happened :eek3:
