here is a Q on a file, to see whether is would be allowed or not. Would game saves and/or memory card saves from a PSX emulator be allowed? Seeing how this isnt a rom or even the emulator (which I guess could be debated as legal), would hosts allow these types of saves?

Don't see why not as it would basically be personal info as in your game saves etc.

Not necessarily actually .... some consoles use gamesaves to hack the software installed on the said console, those gamesaves ARE ILLEGAL, you should not attempt to host them for yourself .... before you try upping normal game saves to a server go to one of your favourite places to get game saves and read very carefully their terms of service and disclaimer, copy words if you have too .... it's a bit of a grey area ...

Actually these saves I am referring to are the memory card saves from an ePSXe emulator.
See this is exactly what I would like to know:
I play a game called Romance of the Three Kingdoms VI. Now I do own a PSX, PS2 and a PS3, but use the ePSXe to run my disk to take screenshots for a website about the game I tinker with from time to time. Anywho, the game allows you to create fictional officers, up to 30 with the 30th being a super officer called a Champion. I just wish to have the memory cards available for DL (as well as the entire website online, so not just a dl site), I think they are about 100K max for file size. I also believe the file extension is .mem, but can be zipped. On the memory cards I would have created historical officers not included with the game, and a Champion officer with all 100 stats (which is extremely rare)

If the files you're hosting contain only material that you're responsible for creating, there is nothing in copyright law that says the file is not allowed, however if contained in the gamesave is code that is copyrighted by the authors of the game the save is for; copyright law would be violated
See, a grey area ....

What type of formate are the game saves in?

the memory cards saved by the ePSXe are a .mem file, only read to my knowledge by an ePSXe. They could be zipped, probably conserving space.
