I think they plan to put ads.

As of now you have to frames at the top and bottom of your site, though they are tiny, they look horrible.

Check out my site http://www.tamiltalk.co.cc

I'm actually in the middle of starting up a free redirection service. The domain is mysite.cx (not working yet). The redirection URL would be http://you.mysite.cx.

Im looking into a good redirection script, any recommendations? I don't feel like writing my own.

the frames are not easily visible.

go to http://www.tamiltalk.co.cc/
zoom in and you will see yellow color frames at the top and bottom

the real site with no ads is http://tamiltalk.wordpress.com/

if you use firefox, the color of the frames is the same as the windows, but in opera you can possibly see the frames easily.

No script recommendations here, but thoughts from a longtime redirector user.
.cx once became famous for the Goatse Meme, which might hurt your business. The lead poster asking about .co.cc will run into trouble either from GutterMinds or people horribly botching the spelling.

I am also not a fan of every business's calling things "my..."

Do you have any options for giving the user a choice?

Yes. I have 2 other neutral domains, and can get more domains if needed.

Would be better off with .be or something :P

I am wondering, is there much demand for these type of url redirection services?

Is it about being able to choose your own sub-domain, having a good TLD, or just handy to use?
