ICQ is going to be a porn program. Each time I connect to ICQ I get 3 messages from ICQ Bots to Porn Web Sites. I always ignore them but everyday I see 3 from different number even the same message. Better to remove them or nobody will use them .

Especially the children who have ICQ and see these. :devious2:

I haven't received one since I disabled incoming messages from people not on my list, in the security settings.

ugh...I get those bots every half hour it seems...you'd think ICQ would try to regulate something like that.

It was just bad planning to make everything go from the UIN. With spammers they can just increase the increment by one and keep going at least with email they first have to have a crawler find your email before they can spam you. The best way to stop it is to follow Jan's advice and to disable all messages from people not on your list.

Disabling incoming messages from people not listed in a contact list is a solution but if somebody wants to talk to you and find you at Random (Chay with a friend) ??? What will it happen then?

Why don't you put it to the test? I am not about to go on random chat to test it out. But if you are a random chat user, try disabling the 'not on list' option and see what happens.

Been a few years since I used random chat! There are some sicko people out there :confused2
