Ok, so I haven't installed a copy of wordpress via fantastico for a year or two now. I just now decide I want to install a copy of WP for testing purposes but it apears they added this new stupid feature for people to blog via email that I don't want to use but fantastico will not install wordpress unless you enter email account username, email account password, POP/SMTP server and POP/SMTP server port numbers.
This is total bull!

I don't know how to configure that, and I don't want to configure that. I guess
You have to contact your hosting provider to ascertain the details of your POP/SMTP data.

This really sucks, and I am very mad!

Installing wordpress directly is extremely easy, why don't you install it? I can install it for you if you would like.

Also, the newest version, 2.3 was released a few days ago, does Fantastico have that version?

Not sure Robert. I never tried to install it manually before but I can probably swing it. If I run into a snag I will let you know.
Thanks

Sorry alley couldn't resist

You should be able to leave that out from the real install - in other words fill out all the rest and just enter any password in the email part. It will install but email blogging won't work :fangel:
