A challenge for CSS gurus

Can you download this template (http://www.oswd.org/design/preview/id/3386) and see why it breaks past a certain point? I have totally "redisigned" it so that it looks nothing like that :p I just got it looking like I wanted it and started adding links and content then poof! In IE everything fell way down out of sight, but stayed perfect in other browsers.

No smart comments about IT thanks in advance ;)

You might ask why I don't just choose another one from the gazillion out there, but after spending hours getting it looking like I want, I would rather fix what ails it.

To get an idea what it is doing, stick a skyscraper ad or a pile of text in one of the side bars and view it in IE. I was doing well until I got to the third subnav area. At first I thought I had broken it with all the changes I made, so I got the original and put an ad into it to and poof!

I dunno how to fix it ( I tried though ), but the problem is with the way the designer has achieved equal column heights ... it would seem that if you take out

from the css, it fixes it, sort of, but all the columns are different heights ... the designer has probably used ( or maybe they wrote ) http://www.positioniseverything.net/articles/onetruelayout/equalheight and I wudda used http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-22-5268973.html

I've moved on, but keep going back to that one cos it looks good after all the work I did on it :(
