Help Needed

Hello,
First, I have to apologize if I'm posting at the wrong place, or something.
I am building a humanitarian web site (I won't advertise it), and I need some instructions from you. As I have come to know, I need web hosting space, and a domain name!? (correct me please if wrong). It would be a small web site, nothing extra large, few hundred pictures from our meetings, and few lines of information about our organization.
I've heard that it's possible to get free server space and domain name? If that is possible, I need some info on where and how to get it, since we don't have much money, and can't afford to buy it...
Also, any other advice would be apprecieated, since I (we) am not really experienced in building web sites...

Hi,

You can get web hosting for free, but you will not get a domain name for free. Not a top level domain anyways.

You can get a sub domain for free . Most free web hosts will provide those if needed.

Some hold competitions to give out domains.

Free Web hosting tends to be very reliable these days, oftentimes better than some paid hosts. I would say that as long as you go with the right provider, you should definitely be able to rely on a free Web host.

As for finding one, I would recommend looking around here at FreeWebspace.net - both on the main site and here at the forum. There are literally thousands of free hosts to choose from.
