I decided to create a website dedicated to my hometown New England Patriots, the greatest team on Earth :-)
http://saincai.zoomcities.net/
I just created this site like a day ago, so I am still trying to fill it with content. I am acquiring email interviews with columnist for the Patriots regional opponents, weekly match ups with my commentary, news feeds for the patriots from various sources, and more.
The left column will have the current AFC East standings as well as Home Field Advantage standings. The right column will have a place for a google ad, for which the free host can make $$$ or if popular enough, I cam :D
If you are a football fan, I hope you will give it an extended look, as I have sections for each of the divisions
Please give me ideas to make my site flourish.

I'm from Massachusetts. PATS FTW!
This site is awesome. I just think that you need to do some marketing and PR. Promotion, etc. First of all, buy a domain such as patspride.com. Second of all, advertise it. Third, add more content. If you do this, you're golden.
Oh, and I also found a great spot to add Google ads. I add them on the right side and at the bottom of the page, under the copyright.
And I'm deciding whether to buy tickets for Week 12 vs. the Eagles or Week 14 vs the Steelers. I'm leaning towards Steelers, but it's your call. Please let me know!

I would go for the Steelers game if I were you. Where in Mass are you from?
Also I have been "spammin" the yahoo forums, most of the posters were from the Redskins forum. I will most likely purchase a domain sometime in the future, and probably make up some flyers and ask a couple local papers "I have friends in high places ;)) to insert them. Maybe hit some stores and whatnot.

I'm from North Andover.
I can see the site potential, but there is a messed up adbar. If the ads were for things like Patriots tickets, etc., you would have a lot more clicks.
Also, can you make them blend in more?
My idea is a Patriots talkshow-podcast. Just 15 to 20 minutes. You can do three shows every week, one on Thursdays that previews the game and tells you about the matchups, players, etc., one on Sunday as like a postgame show, and one on Tuesdays that's an all around basic NFL info show.

I forgot to mention something so I had to double-post. No edit button FTL.
Don't let guests post at your forum. Let guests read, but not post. If they are really willing to contribute, they will sign up. The amount of people signed up is an indication of how popular your site is and how many people are active (I'd delete people if they don't go on for 60 days).

Which adbar and on which page? As for unreg users, they can only post in the smacktalk forum, which gets lockedor maybe deleted, I am unsure at this moment, at the end of the week. They have to be registered to post anywhere else.
I am not sure about the podcast thing, I don't know what that is :(

A podcast is an Internet audio-only talkshow. You subscribe and when an episode is released it will either automatically download or inform you, depending on your settings. Similar to RSS, but for audio.
Those aren't real Google ads. It leads to https://www.google.com/adsense/static/en_US/images/skyscraper.gif. They are ads for cheddar cheese.
The code you had was:
<img src="https://www.google.com/adsense/static/en_US/images/skyscraper.gif">
You need the script code. It's on all the pages.

I will look into the podcast thingy then, I think patriots.com has podcast rss feed type things.
As for the ads, I know it is only the image, I wanted to put something there, so I can work the layout around it. It is basically there for when my site grows and I need more space/transfer, the host can see the existing site, and know exactly where the ad will be placed. If it gets really popular, I can use that space for my ad, and maybe place some inthe content area, like yahoo.
Thank you YuXuan

heh, some positive with negative :)
Well they broke the rules, yes, but tell me which team doesn't break rules? Also it is legal to tape the Defense and signals, just not from the sideline.

http://patsfanzone.namepad.net
I changed the URL, and converted to php, and very minor changes.
Most of the content is full, though I do have some history to do. I am working on the past seasons section, which has the stats from the 1960 season to present.
Actually, now that I look back at the older site, there has been quite a few changes, especially menu wise.
Also, should I add the different divisions (AFC North, South, etc) for potential opponents to discuss their teams, and general football talk about teams in those respective divisions?

Nice site, you just need to update the content!
Stats get updated like Tuesday or when I get a chance, the frontpage is generally going to be a brief recap, and I will update the playoff tree after games. the RSS feeds do get auto refreshed, and 90% of the other content is static.
And thanks :)
