I want to create a cookwebsite with recipes. and i want to use an cms if possible.

this is what i want:
-cookwebsite with recipes
-visitors: able to write recipes
.............able to vote on recipes
.............able to write responses

wich content management system would you recommend me? (open source or freeware)

I've never heard of a freeware cms.

What, never heard of Joomola, Mambo and theres HUNDREDS of free CMS's. I'm working on one now..........

Same here ;) You could get a basic CMS like Joomla and customise it.
