View Full Version : Who else uses 2 eBay accounts?

Come on, fess-up. I don't like eBay's support much - I've been ripped off 3 or 4 times, and every time I haven't been able to get eBay to do a damn thing. I've complained a number of times that unless they're able to start backing up their promises; completely the opposite is true when they say "transactions outside of ebay are more dangerous" - in my experience the opposite is true.
So I eventually came to the conclusion that the only way to make the whole system less frustrating for me was to separate selling and buying into two separate accounts. That way I could I deal with the problem faced with one in one account, and the others in the other account. Who else uses two accounts?

Just 1 account here. It is only ethical to hold one account.... Are you also bidding on your own sales with the other account?

I only have 1 account, I don't really sell that much on eBay so I haven't had any problems with that yet.

Just 1 account here. It is only ethical to hold one account....And I suppose it's only ethical to hold one email account too? I happen to use my ISP account with my selling account, and before I stopped buying from it I've had sellers SPAM it (sign it up to porn, etc) I can't see any other way to protect against that then to buy from a hotmail account.
Are you also bidding on your own sales with the other account?Of course not! That's against eBay policy (http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/newtoebay/alreadyregistered.html), as much as anything else. It's also against eBay policy to bid with two accounts on the same auction.

I have only one account, but I do understand the reasons for having two (or more!).

So? I have nothing to sell, nothing to scam and I don't have time to go browsing through a gazillion pages looking for a bargain (which may or not be a scam).

eBay used to be a lot better, that's for sure. Before every man, and his mum and his mum's beauty therapist had an account. Personally I believe a lot of what is sold on eBay now is from the grey market (ie probably stolen), which is concerning.
It's now much better to get things like DVD's or software from online stores, where once you've ordered from one you know they're honest and reliable and you don't have to take "hit and miss" chances buying from "Fred" on eBay. Online stores I've bought from and are reliable include: JPL (http://jpldisplays.com.au/) - handled replacements very professionally, VideoEzy DVD (http://videoezy.com.au/) however they no longer have an online store, EzyDVD (http://ezydvd.com.au/) though I placed the order by phone cause their online checkout system sucked, Amazon.ca (http://amazon.ca), Play Asia (http://www.play-asia.com/) (paid via DD), RetroZone (http://retrousb.com/) - although their checkout system didn't have ACT in the state (had to select NSW), which seemed usless as he just sent to the paypal address anyway! PCX (http://pcx.com.au/), Movie Dogpound (http://www.moviedogpound.com/) now defunct, GameHead (http://gamehead.com.au/) (I think, can't be sure now)... and probably more too.
