Hi...been googling and found what looks like a pretty good offer.

http://www.twilighthost.com/

They have a few good plans as well as their current 2 xmas specials..

USD$50= get 100GB space/1.5TB bandwidth and domain name all for 5 years!
or for USD$100 get 500GB/10TB bandwidth

Overselling or what?

Thing is,their uptime so far is great, but they are pretty new so how do you know for sure.

I have enquired to them myself about a few things and were very helpful though.

Anyway, does anyone know anything about them or actually use them?

I think its best to keep away from new companys that oversell that much.. If you want to go with someone like that you would be better of going to dreamhost.com or something..

Not that domain name creation means any thing:

Creation Date: 13-sep-2007
Expiration Date: 13-sep-2008

Also they are a reseller for another company (i wont name the company).
The main companys resller packages do not come close to what www.twilighthost.com is offering.

I would steer clear of that one.

I agree. Checkout dreamhost and use their newest coupon deal. They are offering 500GB/5TB bandwidth with a free domain registration for $5.95. Plus you get full SSH/compiler access and all the extras with one click installations.

Can't go wrong honestly...Especially if you are looking for cheap hosting or backup space. On top of that...I wouldn't recommend a competitor if I hadn't used the service myself :P

Wanted to also mention...a couple years back when I was looking for space/bandwidth to host some mirrors for open source projects I signed up with both Dreamhost and Netfirms with Netfirms ($10/year - 300GB Space etc)...Dreamhost truly outperformed Netfirms in support / speed and the shell that Netfirms offers literally has 2 commands, ls and vi :/

In the end, Netfirms wouldn't allow me to transfer away the domain I owned after like 20 attempts and it finally expired with them wanting to charge me $50.00 to get it back with purchase of one of their hosting accounts. How they can be an ICANN registrar blows my mind but they do. Stay clear of Netfirms...Otherwise, I don't know of a better "overselling" type host than DH other than possibly Hostdime.com which is not bad. Stay clear of Hostmonster.com (aka Bluehost with crappier equipment) as they punish you with a maximum amount of SQL queries and CPU limit junk.

Servage.com -- yet another, run from them too... Too many times people signup and show inflated amounts of traffic being used which isn't possible from proven history on those domains. They don't provide you what they tell you and they ONLY allow you to monitor traffic usage with their inflated graphs so you can't beat the system.

Anyway...just my 2 cents as we definitely played around in this market trying to find what was best for mirroring almost 1TB of disk and 7TB of bandwidth a month. In the end, we had 2 DH accounts and still hold them today. We even went a step further and bought a dedicated from them (prior to them reselling dedicated servers) back a year or so ago which we still use.

Good luck in your search!

It looks like overselling for me.
